1. Cape Hatteras Lighthouse restoration contractor plans to activate temporary beacon this Thursday, April 25

2. Bodie Island Lighthouse opens for climbing April 19

3. Cape Hatteras National Seashore will maintain gravel portion of Flowers Ridge Road

4. Cape Hatteras National Seashore announces two-week public comment period for Flowers Ridge Road paving project

   Cape Hatteras National Seashore invites public review and comments on a proposed project to pave a small section of road at the intersection of Lighthouse Road and Flowers Ridge Road in Buxton. 5. Cape Hatteras National Seashore invites community to discuss Buxton Beach Access contamination and remnant infrastructure

   On Wednesday, March 27, from 6-7 p.m., the public is invited to receive updates on the status of petroleum contamination and hazardous infrastructure remediation at Cape Hatteras National Seashore’s Buxton Beach Access. The public meeting will occur at the Fessenden Center, 46830 N.C. 6. Cape Hatteras National Seashore temporarily expands beach closure at Buxton Beach Access due to petroleum odors and sheen on water

   Cape Hatteras National Seashore expanded the size of a previously closed beach area this afternoon in Buxton, North Carolina.
